Academic Advisors at SIU share an integral role in helping our students find their interests, skills, talents and abilities.  We teach and empower students to identify and correlate their strengths into major selection, leadership and volunteer commitments, personal growth and career opportunities.

Academic Advisors are available year-round to assist students. Our typical advising cycle inlcudes preparation for the following semester as soon as possible. Most students in good academic standing are not required to meet with an Academic Advisor, but it is highly encouraged to discuss any potential changes to a student's long-term plan and to ensure the student is aware of new policies and resources.
